The Global South Academic Forum (GSAF) is an international platform fostering solidarity, intellectual exchange, and collaboration among Global South nations.
Initially launched in 2023 as the Global South International Communication Forum (GSICF) by the International Communication Institute of East China Normal University, the forum has since become an indispensable network connecting scholars, policymakers, and activists from Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
In an era of great change and geopolitical upheaval, the GSAF aims to strengthenSouth-South cooperation, advance global peace and help realize a more equitable multilateralism rooted in anti-fascist and post-colonial principles.
The mission of the Global South Academic Forum is to
Challenge Western academic hegemony by building an independent knowledge production and dissemination system.
Strengthen collaboration among Global South countries in critical areas such as digital sovereignty, artificial intelligence, rural revitalization, and climate resilience.
Present China’s modernization as a case study, sharing practical achievements to support Global South nations in pursuing self-reliant development.
