At 15:30 on the afternoon of July 1, teachers and students from the School of Communication of East China Normal University, teachers and students from Guizhou University and young friends from Rongjiang gathered in Le Village to hold the "Youth Village Songs to Welcome July 1st - Youth Poetry Concert to Celebrate the 103rd Anniversary of the Founding of the Party", paying tribute to the 103rd birthday of the Party and showing the youthful style and power of the new era. Shanghai TV "Knews" and Rongjiang released a live broadcast of the youth poetry concert, with a total number of viewers of nearly 30,000.
This poetry concert includes original poetry recitation, national instrument medley, Dong song chorus and other colorful program forms. The performers include not only teachers and students from the School of Communication of East China Normal University and Guizhou University, but also Yang Xiangni, the inheritor and singer of the intangible cultural heritage of the Dong ethnic group's big song, Yang Hui, the anchor of Rongjiang County Media Integration Center, and students from Rongjiang Sufang Anle Primary School and other Rongjiang local people. The poetry reading brought together what the teachers and students of the School of Communication heard and thought during their summer journalism practice, and also incorporated the warm friendship between the people of Rongjiang and the teachers and students of Guizhou.

At the Youth Poetry Conference, Professor Lu Xinyu, Dean of the School of Communication and International Communication Research Institute of East China Normal University, Yu Jing, Vice Dean of the School of Communication of East China Normal University, Professor Huang Jian, Director of the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of Guizhou University, and Long Yuebo, Party Secretary of Lexiang Village, jointly unveiled the East China Normal University International Communication Practice Base. In the future, the base will be used as a basis to continue to carry out field research in China and provide practical nutrients for telling the Chinese story well.
The Youth Poetry Contest was held in front of the Party and Mass Service Center of Le Village, surrounded by green mountains and clear water. Before the performance officially began, the Jiaoyin Phantom Group, the Newspaper Group, the Thermal Imaging Group and other groups appeared in the warm-up session to share and display the rich achievements of their summer news practice. The Jiaoyin Phantom Group also printed their works into roll-up posters and placed them around the performance venue, adding a unique flavor of Dong culture to the poetry contest.
A fresh and lively song "Shang Chunshan" opened the prelude of the youth poetry meeting. Afterwards, all members of the sound, poetry and painting group took to the stage and rehearsed the practical result of the poetry MV "I Have a Poem in Rongjiang" into a magnificent collective poetry recitation. Also making friends through poetry were the creation team of "Xia Xiaozhuan Talking about Rongjiang, Guizhou" and the team of teachers and students from Guizhou University. Everyone incorporated the scenery of Rongjiang, the joy of the village, and the beauty of humanity into the poems, conveying their true and deep feelings for Rongjiang.
The quaint, simple and colorful Dong culture also runs through the poetry concert. Several Dong songs with ancient charm and a song full of true feelings, "Return to Rongjiang", express the beautiful vision of the Rongjiang people to welcome visitors from all directions and spread the national culture. Students from the School of Communication spontaneously formed a "support group" off the field, expressing their friendship and gratitude to the Rongjiang people with enthusiastic cheers and applause.
The most anticipated event is the "two-way rush" between the "Z generation" and the music of the Dong ethnic group. Students from the School of Communication put on traditional Dong costumes and sang "Dong Girl" with Yang Xiangni, the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of the Dong ethnic group's big song, and also made a harmonious collision of guitar, electronic drums and pipa. "The time left for us to rehearse the program is very tight, but incorporating different instruments into folk songs is still very 'unique'," Lin Chaojing, a 2022 undergraduate student majoring in journalism, recalled the rehearsal time and excitedly described it as "this is me and my Guizhou friends playing in a band."
Behind the wonderful performance, there were actually many unexpected situations. From the microphone equipment failing for no reason in the humid climate to the bad weather with raindrops falling halfway through the live broadcast, everyone was nervous. But with the cooperation of all teachers and students, the tacit response of the hosts and the efforts of the media staff, the live broadcast went smoothly. In the end, the youth poetry meeting came to a successful conclusion with the melodious chorus of "My Motherland and I". All the CPC members present took photos with the party flag, expressing their blessings to the party and paying tribute to the party.
